Instagram Auto Reply (AI)

Many customers leave if they don’t get a quick reply. Auto Reply helps you:

  • respond instantly 24/7

  • answer product questions automatically

  • reduce missed orders

  • keep customers engaged while your team is offline


Requirements

Before enabling Auto Reply, make sure:

  • Your store is on the Business Plan (Auto Reply is not available on lower plans)

  • Your Instagram account is a Professional Account (Business/Creator)

  • Your Instagram is connected inside Take App Admin


Step 1: Connect your Instagram

  1. Go to Admin → Instagram

  2. Click Connect to Instagram Business

  3. Log in with your Instagram username + password

Once connected, your Instagram DMs will appear inside Take App Inbox.


Step 2: Enable Instagram Auto Reply

  1. Go to Admin → Chats

  2. Open Chatbot

  3. Go to Auto Reply

  4. Enable Instagram Auto Reply

This activates AI responses for incoming Instagram DMs.


How Instagram Auto Reply works

When a customer sends a message on Instagram DM:

  • Take App AI reads the customer’s question

  • It answers using your store’s product and website content

  • If the AI is unsure, it responds politely and asks the customer to wait for your team

This ensures customers always get a fast response instead of silence.


Extra Automation: Icebreakers & Shortcuts (Recommended)

Instagram also supports “quick buttons” like a menu inside the chat.

Take App can instantly respond when customers tap these buttons using:

  • Icebreakers (example: “How to order”)

  • Shortcuts (persistent menu actions)

These are great for FAQs like:

  • “How much is delivery?”

  • “Where is my order?”

  • “Do you have this in stock?”

Setup:

  1. Connect Instagram in Admin → Instagram

  2. Go to Chats → Chatbot

  3. Configure Icebreakers and Shortcuts


Notes merchants should know

Instagram Auto Reply is different from manual replies

Even if Auto Reply is enabled, your staff can still reply manually anytime from the Inbox.

All messages appear in one inbox

Instagram messages show inside your Take App inbox along with other channels.


Troubleshooting

If Auto Reply does not respond:

  • confirm you are on Business Plan

  • confirm Instagram is connected under Admin → Instagram

  • confirm Auto Reply is enabled under Chats → Chatbot
