Add product tags

Product Tags let you organize and manage your store’s products more efficiently. You can use tags to categorize, highlight, and filter products both internally and on the storefront.



Types of Tags

  • Private Tags: Private tags are for internal use only. They are not visible on the storefront.

  • Public Tags: Public tags are visible on the storefront. Merchants can customize their visibility and colors. There are two kinds of public tags:

    • System Tags: These are built-in tags provided by the system:

      • Popular

      • New

      • Sale

    • Custom Public Tags: Merchants can now create their own public tags from the settings page.

How to Create Product Tags

  1. Go to Settings > Data > Product Tag and click on "New tag"

  2. Add the name and configure its visibility (public or private) and color

  3. Save the tag

How to Assign Tags to a Product

  1. Go to Products > All

  2. Click on the product you want to update

  3. On the product detail page, go to the Tags section

  4. Select one or more existing tags to assign

Note: You can only assign tags that have already been created. Creating tags from the product page will create private tags only.


Tag Editing & Deletion

  • Editing Tags: Once a tag is created, it cannot be edited.

  • Deleting Tags:

    • Store owners can delete private tags they created. Custom public tags cannot be deleted.

    • System-defined tags (Popular, New, Sale) cannot be deleted by store owners.

Tag Behavior

  • Tag Limit: There is no limit to how many tags a product can have.

  • Status Independence: Tags can be added to any product, regardless of whether it’s a draft, active, or archived.

  • Tag Order: Tags are saved and displayed in the exact order they are entered.
